DACHSER platform is honored with the Annual Multimedia Award
The DACHSER platform receives the prestigious Annual Multimedia Award in silver in the Digital Services category: Apps, Tools & Voice User Interfaces etc. The award confirms that the digital customer platform meets and in some cases exceeds all basic requirements in terms of user-friendliness, design and stability. With this award, the DACHSER platform also receives external recognition that it meets DACHSER's strict security and quality standards.
Cornelius Kubik, Department Head DACHSER platform, and Regina Puls, Lead User Research & Strategy at Ray Sono, present the Annual Multimedia Award together with the DACHSER platform team.
Lars Relitz, who is responsible for the DACHSER platform as Head of Corporate Digital Innovation & Development, summarizes the significance of the award for the project as follows: "The award is a clear indicator for us that we are on the right track." For the first time, a digital platform integrates all of DACHSER's business areas into a modern, user-friendly customer interface. "The DACHSER platform is innovative with its cross-modal view from the customer user's perspective. Its intuitive user interface is easy to understand and can be adapted to individual needs," adds Lars Relitz.
The DACHSER platform is recognized as one of the best digital services of 2023
The Annual Multimedia Award, which is organized by Walhalla u. Praetoria Verlag GmbH & Co. KG and presented by a jury of independent experts, has been honoring creative solutions, innovative ideas and business models in the digital space since 1996. Sylvia Rockmann, Project Manager at partner agency Ray Sono, is delighted with the expert vote: "The award recognizes outstanding digital projects that set trends, especially in terms of user experience, and are considered current best cases. In addition to real customer feedback, the platform also receives confirmation from experts."
Following the project launch a year and a half ago, the first version of the DACHSER platform with a basic range of functions has been live since August 2023 and is already being actively used by air freight export customers in their day-to-day business. Over the course of 2024, the DACHSER platform will be successively expanded in order to digitally map the logistics service provider's entire range of services and make them available in an integrated manner.
Demand for air freight capacity remains high. In the first half of 2022, DACHSER operated 150 charter flights—that’s 50 more than in the same period in 2021. But challenges in air freight remain: lockdowns in China and staffing bottlenecks, exacerbated by strikes at major European and international airports, make supply chains susceptible to disruption. Timo Stroh, Head of Global Air Freight at DACHSER, talks about the current situation in air freight as well as potential prospects and solutions.
DACHSER strengthens its interlocking presence at Frankfurt Airport
On 1 July 2020, DACHSER strengthened its networking between the Air & Sea Logistics and European Logistics business segments at Frankfurt Airport and is now bundling air freight import traffic for Germany and other European countries at Frankfurt Airport.
Once the air freight arrives at Frankfurt Airport and is accepted into the air freight warehouse, it is fed directly into the DACHSER European Logistics network, which has a branch office at the airport. With Europe-wide delivery from Frankfurt via the network, DACHSER thus offers its customers a uniform and reliable solution from the point of departure overseas to delivery in Europe. It is now also possible to offer customers end-to-end monitoring of their consignment via eLogistics.

DACHSER's LCL (less-than-container-load) service is the main form of transport for importing car manufacturers
For the past two years, a Japanese car manufacturer has been a client of DACHSER for the transportation of its auto parts. For a service of excellence, a special project was developed that reduces costs and optimizes time: the perfect formula to facilitate the delivery of parts and pieces on different routes, with inventory management and better shipping. What started with a lower flow route in air transport, became a great full-service partnership with the global logistics company with headquarters in Germany.
From October 1 to October 8, 2025, most businesses and factories in China will be closed for the National Day Golden Week holiday. As one of the world’s largest manufacturing hubs, this extended break may significantly impact global supply chains. Early preparation is key to minimizing potential disruptions.
