DACHSER unveils new name to mark 35 years in China
“We have been operating in China for 35 years and the name change and restructuring reflects our expansion during that time. We originally worked with representative offices across China and then embarked on a phased opening of our own branches, completing the process last year,” said Edoardo Podestá, Managing Director of Greater China.
In addition as part of a restructuring of its China office network DACHSER will also rename its Hong Kong office as Regional Head Office Greater China, with all subsidiaries located in North and South China as well as in Taiwan and Hong Kong incorporated into the parent company.
A key characteristic of the DACHSER locations in Greater China is the close link to the local logistics infrastructure. Few years ago the logistics provider opened a 6,000-square-metre warehouse near Shanghai. The port, airport and rail network are all within easy reach and cities like Suzhou, where DACHSER just recently set up a WFOE branch, are just a two-hour drive away. “This gives our customers perfect access to international markets,” Podestá explains, “Our qualified staff and our Warehouse Management System offer our customers great value-added services which gives them a huge competitive advantage.” With its contract logistics solutions, DACHSER Far East is addressing all kinds of customer industries such as consumer electronics, renewable energies and automotive sectors.
